MERCI LA FRANCE!

From the perspective of a musician, live music is always important but somehow after the year we’ve had, its importance just went off the scale.. And so it was all hands on deck to make sure that my two shows in July in France went ahead, against many odds. And what shows they were!!

Huge thanks to Julie Diebolt and all at Jazz À Toulon and Jazz À Juan for much hard work behind the scenes and to the amazing musicians Viktor Nyberg (double bass) and Tilo Bertholo (drums) with whom fate brought me together to deliver the show at Jazz À Toulon. One rehearsal the day before and we were in sync - amazing to experience and to witness, thank you Jacques on Youtube who wrote:

‘Hier soir 23/07/21 sur l'esplanade du Zénith à Toulon, Julia Biel nous a offert sa voix, son piano mais aussi des propos en langue Française, le tout accompagné par deux musiciens rencontrés la veille (contrebasse et batterie). Remarquable trio en osmose totale pour une soirée enchanteresse. Bravo à eux.’

This one will definitely make the memoirs ;)

IF EVER THERE WAS A TIME TO PLAY A SHOW LIKE IT'S YOUR LAST

THEN THIS IS IT…

It's been a full 6 months of waiting to get together with my band again but finally we are ON .

On home ground, this Streatham Space Project show, originally meant to happen in March is finally all set to happen next week Thursday.

It's going to be two shows instead of one.

Both are sold out.

Both are gonna be emotional.

Who can say when the next ones will be? For now I’m looking forward to these with all my heart and I will savour every rare and precious second of togetherness in the company of music, musicians and audience, celebrating all my fellow artists, musicians, technicians and struggling venues with every note.

Crazy times, dig deep Songbirds.

Much love
